Frost & Sullivan Honors Vidyo with Global 2011 Product Differentiation Excellence Award for Videoconferencing Infrastructure Systems
Vidyo received the  Frost & Sullivan Global Product Differentiation Excellence Award in Videoconferencing. Frost & Sullivan’s analysis indicates that “Vidyo’s disruptive platform and APIs will expand the market”. I already mentioned that Vidyo is on the right track and as a little example – last week (12-17/09/2011) Vidyo was mentioned over the web almost 273 times, which is more than the term “cisco+telepresence” – 255 times. Martin Sauter from the blog “WirelessMoves” mention an often forgotten fact regarding VoIP on mobile phones – Today’s circuit switched calls are done via the Baseband radio chip, while future VoIP calls (be it Skype or VoLTE) might be done via applications, whether as plugins or as a part of the OS. Skype, Facebook, Google Plus and Videoconferencing
In the midst of the buzz (no pun intended) around Google+, one might forget it’s unique multimedia feature – multi-party video conferencing. But Google Plus isn’t the only social network to offer video-chat: Facebook has partnered with Skype to launch video chat feature, and although it’s one on one chat – It shows us the way the wind blows.
